How much walking is expected during a tour?
The 2-hour walking historical tour will cover about 1 mile over flat, paved terrain. Mixed drink tours cover minimal distance: all bars are close together, downtown.
What should I bring on the walking tour?
You will need a government-issued photo ID to enter the Naval Academy. Security prohibits visitors from bringing backpacks or large bags onto the grounds, so please only bring what will fit into purses (which are allowed) or pockets.
Do I need to show my ID for the mixed drinks tour?
Yes, a government-issued photo ID is required to verify that you are 21 or older.
Are children welcome on tours?
Yes, absolutely! (Except for the mixed drinks tour.) Children will find much to see and enjoy on an Annapolis walking, boat, or custom tour. Let me know ahead of time the ages and interests of children in your group so I can cater our tour to them.
Are the tours handicap accessible?
The 2-hour walking tour and mixed drinks tour are friendly to those with accessibility needs. Please let me know ahead of time if you have special requirements.
Will we be touring with other people?
Private tours (including custom tours) are attended by your party alone. I also offer open-invite community tours, where you can experience Annapolis with other guests for a fun, social experience. Sign up for the Tour Annapolis Newsletter to be notified about upcoming community tours.
Can we create our own, customized tour?
Yes, I will work with you to design a tour perfectly suited to your interests . . . any length, any party size. Want to see some highlights downtown, then jump in a boat, and end with a round of drinks? We can make it happen. Send me a message here (choose "Custom Tour"), or call or email me to start planning.
What is your weather policy?
As we approach the day of your tour, I will be monitoring weather conditions. Boat tours cannot take place in heavy rains, thunder storms, or high winds. In such cases I offer a credit for a future tour or a full refund. For walking and drinks tours, we will communicate to determine whether you'd like to proceed with the tour or receive a credit or refund.
