You will discover the fascinating ties between Philadelphia 1776 and Annapolis 1783–84. Did you know that Annapolis is where American Independence was sealed with the ratification of the Treaty of Paris? Annapolis was thus the first peacetime capital of the United States. This city is also where General George Washington resigned his commission as Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army, becoming the “American Cincinnatus.” Discover these and stories as we bring Annapolis’s revolutionary history to life!
